Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Jabuka, Gorazde

The church was mined on July 23, 1992.
The church was mined by the so-called Army BiH, which was overwhelmingly Muslim.

The church was blown up with dynamite, not even the walls remained.

Construction of the Church: 1938

Construction of the church in Jabuka began in the fall of 1936. It was consecrated in the fall of 1937.

The church was completed and consecrated on the Feast of the Savior, June 2, 1938.

Renovation of the church:

The church was renovated in 2005.

Population and religion:

According to official data from the 1991 census, 1,457 Serbian Christians lived in the area of Jabuka and the surrounding settlements that were dependent on the church in Jabuka.

Now about 50 Serbian Christians live in that area.
