The Church of Saint Archdeacon Stefan in Kljevci was built during the war in 1994.
And next to it there is also an old church - the Temple of the Ascension of the Lord, which is more than one hundred and sixty years old and is associated with numerous stories and legends.
In the attack of the predominantly Muslim Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995, both sanctuaries were destroyed, both the old one and the new one that was in the process of being built.
Even the bells were stolen on that occasion.

Close to a thousand Christians lived in this place until the last war, and today this place is unfortunately devastated.
After the Muslim army occupied Kljevci and the surrounding area, the entire Serb Christian population was expelled, the village was set on fire.
About 120 Christian Serbs were killed in Kljevci and the surrounding villages in Sanski Most. They were slaughtered or shot in the head.
