Church of St. John the Baptist Jelasinovci

The church was set on fire in October 1995, when members of the so-called Army occupied Sanski Most. The absolute majority of Army BiH soldiers were Muslims.

The temple was renovated in 2006.

The church was renovated by the Diocese of Bihac and Petrovac.
The Diocese of Bihac and Petrovac is a diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church.


Population and religion:

According to the official 1991 census, there were 591 Christian Serbs and zero Muslims living in the settlement of Jelašinovci. 

All Serbs were expelled, their houses burned, their livestock and agricultural machinery looted.


According to data from the book "Spiritual Genocide" published by the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 1997, the church was set on fire by Muslims.
