Temple of the Ascension of the Lord, Pozarnica Tuzla
In 1992, the predominantly Muslim So-called Army of BiH occupied the settlements of Pozarnica Kovacevo selo and other Serbian Christian settlements around Tuzla.

The Ninth Muslim Brigade operated in the Tuzla area.
Construction of the temple: 1896.
Renovation of the Church: 2016.
The Ascension Temple in Pozarnica was built in 1896.
The parish house was built in 1975
Saint Sava House was built in 1986.
Everything was set on fire and demolished with mine explosives, and the Church and the Parish house and St. Sava House.
They burned the icons and destroyed the frescoes on the walls.
Population and religion:
According to official data from the 1991 population census, 1,178 Christian Serbs lived in the Pozarnica settlement.
According to official data from the 2013 population census, 110 Christian Serbs lived in the Pozarnica settlement.
In 2026, about 40 Serbian Christians live in Pozarnica. We are talking about elderly people, pensioners, who came back to die on their land.
Diocese / Metropolis: The parish church and Sveti Sava Dom belong to the diocese of Zvornik Tuzla, Serbian Orthodox Church.
